The White Rabbit Tea Room on Tarn Road in Brampton is a relaxed spot that feels well suited for those looking to unwind after a stroll around the nearby tarn or while exploring the adjoining garden centre. It’s a cafe focused on traditional British teatime offerings, with a menu centered on afternoon tea featuring homemade scones, sandwiches like the classic coronation chicken, and a variety of traybakes and cakes. This menu makes it appealing for anyone wanting a casual, comforting bite rather than a full meal.

Visitors tend to appreciate both the indoor spaces and outdoor seating, which catch the gentle light on warmer days without any hustle or rush. The atmosphere is calm and welcoming, shaped by friendly staff and a mix of local customers who pop in for a pause mid-walk or during nursery visits nearby. The sizable car park makes it easy to stop by even on busier days.

The venue is particularly well suited for afternoon tea; portions are generous and the quality homemade cakes—including standouts like the Victoria sponge and coffee cake—draw return visits. Those who come for tea often note that the tea itself is poured generously and the scones come highly recommended, standing out in the area for their texture and freshness.

Early mornings see a quieter crowd enjoying simple breakfasts like bacon or sausage rolls and toasted teacakes, making it a flexible spot from breakfast through to late afternoon. The calm setting paired with thoughtful, affordable offerings suggests this is a place locals rely on for moments of downtime, catching up over a pot of English Breakfast tea or a cappuccino.

In short, The White Rabbit Tea Room is best for those after a classic British tea experience in a low-key environment that blends coziness with a touch of countryside charm. It works especially well for walkers, garden centre visitors, and anyone keen on a generous homemade cake accompanied by a steady stream of tea or coffee.

Today was the second time we have visited this tearoom after a walk round the tarn. There cream tea is surprisingly cheap. The scones are the best Iwe have tasted in the area. Will have to call back for a proper lunch one day.

This was a great find for a pit stop. Lovely location with indoor and outdoor seating, friendly staff and customers. Although we didn't get to try the cakes they looked amazing. There's a good size car park and I believe a nursery joined to it which was closed when we were there. Can't fault it.

The Victoria Sponge was the best I've ever had. Lovely wee place to stop off at and right beside a garden centre with sensible prices. Win win for me!

Beautiful little hidden gem. We had an amazing afternoon tea, where there was so much cake we had to take some home, to enjoy later. Everything was homemade and tastes amazing. We had never ending tea brought to our table, the staff were so welcoming and warm. All topped off with beautiful and peaceful surroundings.

Found this little tearoom whilst out on gallery deliveries, a great cup of tea and a latte with a good value menu too :) We had a savoury snack (toasted tea cake and a sausage and egg sandwich) but the homemade cakes looked amazing! Great choice too! Very friendly, helpful staff, thank you :) Oh - and you can buy Christmas Trees here too!!

Exceptional wee gem of a place. Excellent customer service and beautiful food. Called in for a cuppa and a light lunch after a walk around talkin tarn. Too many scrumptious cakes to choose from, may have to call in every week to taste them all

We had the tastiest late lunch here today! Wish we had called ahead to organize afternoon tea but the slice of cake we shared was wonderful. Definitely recommend.
